Q: Need help with Georgia auto insurance laws.?
If you have a car in Georgia and you have the car's insurance policy in your name only, what would happen if you let some one else drive the car and they had an accident that was their fault? Would the insurance on the auto pay or would the drivers insurance pay? Also, if the driver has no auto insurance who would be financially responsible for any damages? Thanks!
A: I recommend you locate a local car insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Texas I can't recommend anyone in Georgia, but here is an resource that can help you. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html
Hope it works out
Q: list of cheap auto insurance in Georgia $40-$50 a month?
cheap auto insurance in Georgia .looking for where I can pay btw $40-$50 a month
A: Check with an independent agent. They can write through various companies. If you don't have a great car, look at getting only liability insurance. Otherwise, if you need comp and collision, go with higher deductibles ( at least $500). This will help a little.
Q: what is the best auto insurance in georgia?
A: There are no "best" company but a company that suits all your needs at the best rates that fit your needs. Check this site out http://www.ez-insurancesearch.com they have some great info and will give you quotes from some of the top providers in your area.
Q: Will your auto insurance go up if you get a 2 point ticket in Georgia?
I haven't had a ticket in over 5 years and I'm over 30yrs old. I was going 40mph in a 25mph zone.
I've Heard that Insurance companys will not even look at your driving history unless you change your policy or if you're already labeled a high risk driver. Also since it was only a 2 point ticket I've heard that it will not raise your rate unless you get another 2 point ticket within a short period of time. Can anyone verify this info?
A: It depends on if the insurance company runs your MVR or not. Some will run it at renewal time and others don't. Your best bet is to wait and see. If your rates go up then it might be a good time to shop around. Here is a directory of local agents: http://www.findlocalinsurance.com
Q: i'm in Georgia& I wanted to know if anybody knows where to find info on laws for auto insurance companies?
I was in an automobile accident and the other person insurance hasn't done anything for me and they only want to pay part of it and they wont provide me with a rental car. when it was totally their fault. Where do I find laws on insurance companies and georgia statues on what they have to do? anywebsites or resources would help
A: If I were you I would contact the Insurance Commissioner's office or the Department of Insurance (not sure which it would be called in GA) about that. You'll probably have to file a written complaint. You didn't tell us enough for us to comment as to whether the insurance company is doing you right or wrong.
Q: How to start an Auto Insurance Company.?
Some friends and I are talking about what we need to do to start our own Auto Insurance Company, in Georgia. We can have the money to back claims up to the state limits. What would we have to do to put this plan into action? Is it like starting any business just get a business license. We have gone over all the figures as long as this is something that would not be costly; we could save money and turn a profit. And maybe some day branch the company out side of friends and write policies to others.
A: Randall L, For car insurance the quickest way to get a low quote is do a policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an fast quote to compare against others. Use the same zipcode, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get easy auto quotes, go to http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.com/Georgia-Car-Insurance-Quotes.html and you can compare the major auto insurance companies.
Q: How to become an auto insurance adjuster?
I live in Georgia, and wanting some details on becoming an auto insurance claims adjuster, I currently work for an towing company have some experience in vehicles.
also, how much money do they make?
A: The answer will vary depending on if you want to become an Adjuster (one who investigates liability) or an appraiser (one who only estimates vehicle damages.
First off, either one can be a very stressful, thankless job. Depending on what company and location you could start as a trainee in the high 20's or low 30's. A good way to get into either position is to get a job as a trainee at a large insurance company. That is where you will get your best training and more importantly experience.
Check with jobsites such as www.greatinsurancejobs.com or www.careerbuilder.com
You might also check with any local vocational schools in your area as many of them are beginning to offer classes in becoming an adjuster.
Good Luck
Q: Car Insurance in Georgia?
I just bought a new car, and I was wondering what does the state of Georgia consider to be "full coverage" auto insurance?
A: The state of Georgia doesn't care what "full coverage" is. The state only cares that you carry liability on your car. This is shown as a number on your insurance policy such as 100/300/100. This means that the insurance company will pay out $100,000 for injuries to one person in another vehicle if you cause an accident and up to $300,000 for all people in the other vehicles. The second 100 means they will pay $100,000 for property damage for things that you may hit, such as another car or a building.
"Full coverage" is not really an insurance term and different people may have different definitions. The bank requires "full coverage" to pay them off if the car is totaled or stolen. The basic "full coverage" that the bank requires consists of Comprehensive and Collision coverage and comes with a deductible. Some people would classify Uninsured and Underinsured coverage under the term "full coverage" as well as Medical or PIP coverage.
Q: I canceled auto insurance in May. I had paid $179.00 since 3/30/08 for liability on 2 vehicles in Georgia.?
I added the 3rd auto w/full coverage 5/15/08 b/4 I canceled. They now claim I owe them $131.00 additional. I informed them today after 11 years(no claims) they had gotten all the money from me they were going to get. They claim they will sue. Can they?
I did speak w/them this a.m. I had requested quotes from different companies the 1st of May, and they were one of the co.'s that gave me a quote (not realizing I already had insurance w/them). The quote was for $300 less than I was paying for year! I told them that is why I was canceling and was not paying their earned premium!
A: Anybody can sue for anything.
You pays your fee, subpoena your defendant and go to court.
But it would cost them more than $131 to sue you, so they probably won't. They'd also rather keep you as a future client.
Call them, explaining to them you've canceled the policy, and that there will not be any claims. Also ask nicely if they'll just cancel the payment or if they'd settle for less, that you'd like to use them again sometime in the future (even if you won't).
Good luck.
Q: How does one form an Insurance Agency (Property, Auto, Life, etc.) in the state of Georgia?
Do I need to have experience in Insurance? I understand I can take a on-line course, pass a test, complete necessary forms -- and then receive my state license. However, how is this different from starting your own agency from scratch? How does one engage with Insurance Companies such as, Allstate, Nationwide, Hanover, etc. ... to begin offering their products? Are there different levels of insurance agents (eg. agents and brokers licenses?!?). Is anyone in the industry willing to converse with me via email?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Q: Does putting someone else's auto tag and auto insurance in your name give you any ownership of the vehicle?
This was done in the state of Georgia. I bought, own and restored an old VW camper bus. I went short on funds and my girlfriend at the time wanted us to use t he camper bus. Her insurance would be a lot cheaper than mine, so she got a tagand insurance for the bus, but she put them in her name. While we were together, I thought that was fine. But now that we are not together, she thinks that she has part ownership of the vehicle. I have the bill of sale from when I purchased the car, she has never had the such but was supposed to in order to have gotten the tag in her name. In a court of law, where does her old tag get her?
A: Who's name is on the title? They are the one that owns the car. I'm wondering how she was able to get plates on it if the VW was in your name and her name wasn't on the title.
Go down to the DMV or county clerks office and get this straightened out. Get the registration in your name and cancel the other tag. It should have never happened but it did now get it straight and then you won't have any more worries. Good luck with it.
Q: Cheap Auto Insurance Companies?
I'm 20 years old, I live in Georgia. I have a 94' Infiniti Q45 (I own it). I'm in school and work part time so I'm trying to avoid an expensive monthly car note. Is there any auto insurance companies with a low or no down payment? And can I get a monthly bill under $200?
A: this is the cheapest one I found
http://best-american-insurers-free-comparison.servicesarticles.com/a/1.html
but since getting quoted is free, just get quoted till you find what's best or you.
Q: What is the statute of limitation for suing for an auto accident in the State of Georgia?
A lady hit my car back in November of 2006. She had an expired license and no insurance. She lives in Austell county so i have to drive there to sue her. Does anyone know the limitations on whether i can still sue her? And what do i need to bring or do? I have the police report and an estimate for my car.
A: Personal Injury Actions must be brought within two years of the date that the injury occurred. This includes injury to your property which an auto accident is classified.
However, you don't need to file in Austell county because that is where she lives. You need to file in the county where the accident occurred.
Q: When you file a auto claim to fix your car with the insurance company how long do they have to fix your car?
I filed the claim a month ago and still they're messing around. I live in Georgia. I need to fix my car. Can they hold back how long they want?
The insurance damage guy just looked at my car Friday tho, and he said someone would contact me this Monday, but still, do you think I should call them back.
Because I can't go another week with broken tail light and messed up bumper, may get a ticket
A: I would call them and advise that LEGALLY your vehicle CANNOT be driven due to the fact that you have a broken tail light.
You need to know when the check will be issued so you can get your vehicle fixed.
If you do not get a response or they "mess around" with you some more, then you advise that you want to speak to a supervisor. Advise the supervisor that this has been ridiculous that it has been a month and still no check has been issued for the damage to be repaired. Let them know that your vehicle is legally NOT drivable since you have a broken tail light.
If you believe they are not appropriately handling your claim you always have the right to turn them into the Insurance commissioner or the State's Department of Insurance.
** just a little hint, most of the time insurance companies do not like that threat, and if absolutely necessary you can advise that you will turn them into the Insurance commissioner, but you should follow through with that threat ONLY if they do NOT respond appropriately or timely (or are just not handling your claim right)
Q: Question about Auto Insurance??
Okay..so I live in Georgia and my husband has full coverage insurance, we are currently buying a truck from a buy here, pay here car company, so we are making payements on it. My question is, is we are kind of having a bad week money wise, and we will have to go without paying insurance(which gets canceled tommorow if we don't pay it) Usually when this happens we just reinstate it a few days later, but if we dont pay it we will have to wait until next Friday to pay it..So what could the car company do if they get word back that the policy has been cancelled? We have one of those things in there where they can turn the vehicle off when they want(like if you miss a payment) So can they just turn the truck off because we let our insurance cancel? Or does it usually take a few days for the insurance company to report that its been cancelled? Sorry so long. Thanks.
A: I'm not sure what ramifications you may face with the car company (they may force-place coverage for you and then charge you). BUT if you get pulled over while driving without insurance you could lose your license.
WORSE, you could cause an accident and be liable for all of the damages. You could ruin the rest of your financial life if you cause a serious accident without insurance.
