Q: north carolina and auto insurance and tickets?
ok me and my husband live in nc and will move to hawaii in a few weeks. he has gotten 3 tickets within the past yr and a half. 1 speeding on post- paid, running red light on post-paid, and today he made what an mp called an illegal pass after his buddy told him to since he had a navigation. it was in a neighborhood off post but owned by the post and the mps here are extreme jerks made him do a breath test even though noone had any alcohol and he yelled at him for not breathing right and then for breathing too hard?! i have no tickets but now he has 3 he wants to fight this one he got today but in nc how many before auto insurance is affected? we have state farm and luckily nothing yet but will this put us over the limit? and when we go to hawaii and switch to hawaii insurance will it carry over?

A: The tickets will follow you to HI. Now, for the other part of your question, it all depends on how long you have been with the company, which company (level) of SF you are in, how far apart the tickets are spaced, are there any other accidents or losses on your (and his) record, among a few other things. Chances are if you are the Mutual level and there is nothing else in the household (accidents or losses), you'll be fine. It may disqualify some discounts though. Call and talk to your agent - they will better be able to inform you with rules specific to your situation and state. Good Luck - and enjoy Hawaii!!

A: just seen it while getting a car quote. Go here http://www.esuperfind.com/carinsurance2.php?id=44 click on the middle of the page button then it'll say "business insurance". Hope i helped

Q: how much rental car insurance do I actually need?
I don't have stateside auto insurance. We are military living overseas. Renting a car in Hawaii and don't want to spend a fortune in rental car insurance but want to be covered.

A: If you have a Gold or Platinum credit card you're probably covered, read your credit card agreement. If you don't have a credit card that covers rental cars, you will need to get the collision damage waiver insurance from the rental company. Most now do not limit your liability if you don't take the coverage or have a credit card that covers you.

Q: Is it true that credit bureaus .. read ?
I posted this question about a week ago.. Is it true that credit bureaus are working with banks in a scam to keep peoples credit low to allow the banks to charge higher interest rates to people with low credit scores..and funneling money comps back to the credit reporting agencys.. anyone in the banking industry that might have knowladge or information on this.. Its an artical I came across ..if its true this would be bigger than the Enron scandal.. I came across this today.. Fighting an uphill battle against powerful lobbyists, state legislators Del. measure would ban credit scoring by insurers Practice hurts blue-collar workers and minorities, lawmakers say By LESLIE A. PAPPAS, The News Journal Posted Saturday, March 3, 2007 Insurance Commissioner Matthew Denn urged consumers Friday to call their legislators to express support for Senate Bill 31. The News Journal MATTHEW JONAS Sen. Margaret Rose Henry said a similar bill got "halfway" to passing last year. Fighting an uphill battle against powerful lobbyists, state legislators are trying again this year to ban insurance companies from using credit scores to set auto and homeowner insurance premiums in Delaware. "Credit scoring is wrong. It's unnecessary and unfair," Delaware Insurance Commissioner Matthew Denn said at a press conference Friday to drum up support for the legislation. He urged Delawareans to call their legislators in support of the bill, which the insurance industry will likely oppose. "The insurance lobbyists ... will do what they need to do and spend what they need to spend" to keep the bill from passing, he said. Sponsored by state Sens. Margaret Rose Henry, D-Wilmington East, Harris B. McDowell III, D-Wilmington North, and Rep. Helene M. Keeley, D-Wilmington South, Senate Bill 31 would ban all use of credit scores in setting auto and homeowner insurance rates. Credit scoring -- the use of credit history to evaluate policyholders and review new applicants -- "is a bad thing, period," said Henry. The practice hurts minorities and blue-collar workers, and can be a problem for many people who have errors on their credit reports. A similar bill last year passed the Senate but was never brought up for a vote in the House of Representatives. The latest proposal is more restrictive than last year's bill, which allowed the use of credit scores in setting new policies but banned their use in renewals, Henry said. "We were halfway there last year. Hopefully it will pass both houses this session," said Henry. Consumer advocates expressed support for the legislation and criticized insurance companies' widespread use of credit scores. "Your auto insurance premium should be based on your history as a driver," said John Flaherty, lobbyist for Common Cause of Delaware. He said 90 percent of insurers use credit scores. "It is clear to us that there is no relationship between an individual's credit rating and driving ability," said Mark Brunswick of the A. Philip Randolph Institute of Delaware, a black labor group. The use of credit scoring often hurts the poor, who end up subsidizing the lower premiums of affluent drivers, Brunswick said. The insurance industry says credit scoring models actually help keep premiums down overall. "The more variables you have to underwrite in price, the more accurate you can be in pricing," said Jeff Junkas, spokesman for the American Insurance Association, which represents about 400 insurance companies nationwide. The score can't predict car accidents, he said, but "credit-based insurance scores do predict the likelihood that a claim will be filed and how high those claims will be," he said. "We don't know why it works, but it does work." Only four states totally ban the use of credit scores in setting insurance premiums, said Junkas. California bans their use in setting auto premiums, Maryland bans their use for homeowners insurance, and Massachusetts and Hawaii ban credit scoring for both

A: It's absolutley true that insurance companies use your credit rating to determine your premium. Now, what your credit rating has to do with the likelyhood you'll have an accident is beyond me. It isn't fair. There's legislation in the Delaware legislature to ban the use of credit scores toward premiums. It's failed several times because lobbyists from the industry.

Q: Im at my wits end..HElP?
My best friend is 34.Lives at home. Can't hold a job.Has an excuse for every job people tell her is hiring(not enough pay, doesnt want to work night hours, doesnt want to cashier, doesnt want to lift heavy things ect...).Her Mom enables her too damn much. Her mom pays her bills, doesnt make her pay her share of auto insurance(my friend doesnt think she should pay). She is constantly depressed and negative trying to bring me down too.Im sick of her attitude.I have told her b4 about this and it doesnt help. She will get jealous of other peoples happiness&she cant keep confidencees. What can I do or say to her without causing bodily harm?she is whining and doesnt realize how easy she has it.She is always saying that her and I will never get boyfriends or husbands and I tell her to speak for herself. She did work as a waitress part for a year and did take me to Hawaii for my 30th bday(we did what SHE wanted to do&it was her 3rd time there). Please help.Im at my wits end.

A: The best thing to do is to cut ties with this female. This might be hard at first, but in the long run it will have been worth it. The reason being is that it seems as if this person is getting to you with her negativity. If you remain in this situation, all this negativity will translate to you. It seems as if you have a good head on your shoulder and that you have high hopes for the future. Do not let your friend rob you of this. A person without hope and goals is just stagnant and takes whatever is given to them. This is the boat your friend is in and you don't want to be like that. You need to continue to strive for what you want. Imagine what will happen to your friend if (I'm not wishing this) something happens to her mom. Who do you think she will lean on then? That's right, it might be you. Being there for a friend is admirable if the friend is trying to do something for themselves. However, your friend sounds like the type that will leech onto everything you have in that event. You do not need all that stress. You have your own life to live. Misery loves company and your friend is trying to keep you in that same boat. Cut all ties, move on, and you will see that things will get better for you. If this causes your friend to wake up and smell the coffee and start doing things for herself, then you have helped her out. If she remains in the same rut, just think that you could have been right there with her and unhappy. It's a win win situation.

Q: Is this another good reason why we should be denying licenses to illegal immigrants?
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- In an online Spanish language chat room, people from all over the East Coast seek tips on how to get driver's licenses in Maryland even though they don't live there. Businesses run classified ads in Spanish-language publications in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland urging "undocumented Hispanic friends" to take advantage of the opportunity to get Maryland ID without having to prove they're in the country legally. In one case, Maryland motor vehicle officials say, 68 different people applying for licenses and IDs gave the same address for an 800-square-foot home in Baltimore. Maryland is one of just four states - and the only one east of the Mississippi - where people don't have to prove they're legal U.S. residents to get driver's licenses. Some lawmakers are pushing to change that this year, arguing that Maryland's rules make it a target for fraud by undocumented people from all over the U.S. But advocates here and in other states with similar rules - Hawaii, New Mexico and Washington - argue that allowing illegal immigrants to get state-issued identification gives police broader databases to use when investigating crimes and increases the rate of auto insurance coverage. "It makes the streets safer for all of us," said Delegate Jolene Ivey, a Democrat from Prince George's County who supports continued access to Maryland licenses for undocumented residents. Q: Do you agree Main Street also need a bailout?
If Greedy Wall Street, the creators of our present economic mess are being bailout by the Government, then it only makes sense for Main Street/Middle Class Taxpayers who will foot the $700 billion to also get some sort of bailout. After all, greedy wall street made millions in all the bad mortgage backed securities, CDOs, derivatives, credit swaps etc thus whether they are bailed out or not, it will still be a win situation for them. On the hand, hardworking middle class have lost half of their life savings, 401k, have to prolong their retirement years, have to take second jobs to cover their health care cost and tuition for their children...this absolutely doesn't make sense! For the bailout to work and directly impact the financial system, I propose 1/4th of the $700 billion to be given to main street in these forms: a) another round of rebate check, so people can buy gifts for their family during the holidays which will raise revenues for retail shops; b) get two months relief from paying mortgages and rent, so that good citizens who with hard work have not defaulted their mortgage payments will be rewarded and in the end it will help these same mortgage companies that will are trying to bail out to reduce the number of default payments; c) tax credit for everyone so that families can regain back some of their 401k savings that they've lost on the stock market; d) 1 year tuition re-reimbursement, zero percent loans for college and graduate schools to encourage people with dead-locked jobs to pursue other careers that can lift them up to upper middle class level and help them compete globally and chase good jobs in China, India and Europe; e) Relief for people who pay live in States that pay "Vehicle Tax", zero percent auto loans or rebate checks for people to pay their next car insurance. f) Since the CEO's outrageous salaries will be reduced, it is only fair for that surplus to be used to raise hardworking employees' salary to 7%-10% annually against inflation. The current 3%-5% annual increases is ridiculous especially when few people are given based on office politics while senior management get millions in bonuses, free jet flights, re-reimbursement for the luxurious trips and lunches. Again, Main Street need a break, even if the $700 bailout is given to Wall Street, they will still squander it and buy more corporate jets, big mansions in cayman island, Bahamas, Hawaii, Bermuda and purchases of islands in Dubai and the Carri beans. Rather , when the money is given to main street, the money will have "IMMEDIATE, DIRECT on our financial system to stimulate the economy since it will be locally used to pay bills, spent on gas and Christmas shopping. A: What you are suggesting was the attempt with the Bush tax rebate. This rebate resulted in a modest effect. Maybe because it was too little, too late, or maybe because it was just too little. But it showed us that if the rebates are given to people that have enough money to pay taxes, there most likely going to save their money or spend it over a LONG period of time, resulting in minimal effects to the real economy. But once everybody spends there rebates, there is nothing else unless the economy rebounds. What they should do to when giving people money is force them to pay down there credit cards and what not. But that's no guarantee they won't run them right up again. But this getting past the real issue, the reason the credit crisis is so bad is because thousands of americans have defaulted on there 250,000 dollar homes + interest. Banks gave money to the american public (those in the real estate industry) for assets that weren't even close to the value of the loan and then these individuals borrowed more money based on this income or in the "false equity" in there homes. 750 billion dollars will pay for over a million 300,000 dollar homes so that banks, law firms, contractors, etc., can start paying there employees again. Atleast the ones that weren't hired as a result of this mass investing of valueless assets. Sorry for the horrible typing, I'm doing three things at once.

A: I certainly do not like Fat Cats getting 'Fatter'and that's what will happen. The honest to God "Slim Jim's" that were filled with lies when they entered their mortgage agreement, loans, etc. will get no relief to help them. But To Bail out is the ONLY answer~ Without it, a domino effect of more Banks closing, fewer loans available for payroll's of Small Business' (therefore More Job losses), less college grants ( education goes further down hill),More Health care cuts leading to "Unhealthy Americans.... I could go on & on.....Its "Damned if we do" and if we don't it will be worse. Do I think it will solve the US crisis forever? Absolutely not! We can not trust our government to be truthfull about anything, and if they were, the Media will be sure to put doubts in people's minds again. This is now a world of greed, tyrants, and terrorists ( in more ways than al Qa'ida ) Its too late to put the Blame on anyone. Childish Republicans and Democrats spend more time on "passing the buck" and "digging up the dirt" than on any one program to help ( save) this planet and humanities ability to exist. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I do believe we are in for a recession regardless of whats done or who is our new president. I only hope I am proved wrong! But right now, today, we have no choice~ Make the call. Write the Emails. Hope that 'Big Brother' does a better job of watching where our money on Main Street goes this time. Prove me wrong and I'll be a happier healthier American. From another Distressed Citizen Today who also worries where my kids will be in 5 years
