A: I moved from southern CA to Vegas. It was more here in Vegas.
Q: Purchasing auto insurance in a different state?
I'm moving to a Virginia tomorrow from Nevada. I already have an address there but my car is registered in Nevada. Can I buy insurance using my Virginia address if I have Nevada plates?
A: Generally, yes.
car-insurance.66ghz.com - try this one. I personally have their car insurance, cause it is the cheapest for my family in VA.
As I know it provides such a service.
Q: I just moved to Nevada. Do I need to get a new driver's license and registration?
I moved to Nevada a week ago. I went to the DMV to get my new driver's license. The clerk said I need 3 forms of ID (1) ID (2). Social Security Card (3). Birth Certificate. I went back to California to get my birth certificate. Now, I am told by a friend that I don't need to get a Nevada License until my California license expires in 2013. It has never been suspended or revoked. Do I need to remove my old California plates and turn them into the DMV before I can get the Nevada plates? To get my car registered in Nevada, do I need to get auto insurance in Nevada first? I already have auto insurance in California. Do, I wait until it is time to renew it first? The DMV in Las Vegas, Nevada was not much help. Please assist.
A: There is a specific period of time after you establish residency in which to obtain a license, insurance and register your vehicle in your new state. The penalties for failing to do so can be high in some states. In AZ, you have to do it immediately, in some states it might be within 10 days or 30 days. I'm sure the NV MVD has a website that explains it.
