Q: Where can I take a class for getting a new york auto insurance license?
does anyone know anything about online classes for p&c license? btw, i really appreciate all of you spending your quality time to answer my questions!
A: http://www.ins.state.ny.us/lic-pc1.htm
Your local www.iiaa.org office is the best source. You can do in person classes there, or online self study courses.
Q: Question about New York Insurance Liability Guidelines -Auto Accident?
I was wondering where I can find the way to look up the Liability Guidelines for New York State. I was in a car accident that the other girl Failed to yield the right of way (she had stop sign and I didnt) so i want to know according to NYS law, what is the highest percentage of liability they can give me when I was clearly not at fault acording to the police report and wittness statements.
A: You can visit New York's insurance website. However, the specific payout coverages will be based on your insurance coverage and provisions. Therefore, I recommend that you review your Insurance policy's declaration page and attachments for that information. And, of course, you can also contact your agent or carrier but they will want to know why you are questioning the payout information.
Q: What are the best auto insurance agencies for New York state?
Best and cheapest?
A: The real question would be which is best and cheapest for you with your circumstances. If there was one insurance company anyone could point to as absolute best and cheapest, the others would eventually go away.
What is best for me, and my circumstances, might be the highest for you.
Call an independent agent not connected with just one big company, give him your information, ZIP, type of vehicle, and what coverage you want, he will then look up your driving record and credit rating and the other things they rate you on, and suggest the best for YOU from his data base of available companies in your state.
Q: can a dealer force you to buy GAP insurance, Auto theft insurance in NEW YORK, saying it is bank requirement?
This is a bad credit situatio. Drive Financial is the bank. They say teh bank will acccept you only if you get all these extra coverages. Is this legal?
A: it is completely illegal to do this. The salesman knows he has you by the b///s. They may decide not to give you the loan if you dont buy the stufrf - so I guess I would just buy it but just so you know it is illegal to require this in order to obtain the loan. That I am sure of. In fact - the GAP contract will state the same thing oin the actual contract you recieve. I actually sell GAP insurance in every state except New yourk because it is so cheap to buy there (I think it should cost you about $100)
all of the aftermarket products that they sell you can be cancelled.
Q: Are there any auto insurance companies in New York that do not do credit checks?
A: See http://www.esuperfind.com/carinsurance.php?id=588 you'll get many results back, at worse you waste 5 minutes in finding out.
Good luck.
Q: can my child be under my auto insurance policy in a different state? she is in new york, i will be in SC?
A: In a word, no! Unless she is a full-time student, and you own the car, which would then be registered to your home address. She would apply for student status with NY. If she takes a summer job, chances are the car would then have to be insured in her name in NY, though.
Q: is there any auto insurance companies who can insure you with an international driver license in New York?
thanks
A: For auto insurance the easiest way to get a low quote is do a auto policy comparison. If you choose the same coverage amounts, you can get an fast quote to compare against others. Use the same zipcode, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to make sure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get easy auto insurance quotes, go to http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.
Q: how much is the average cost of auto insurance for a new driver?

A: future navy man, Try getting an online insurance quote It's free and generally hassle free. http://www.simpleautoquotes.com/Auto-Insurance.html
Good Luck.
Q: is she paying to much for auto insurance?
my aunt is 35 got a license a year ago has no accidents and she
pays 200$ a month for minimum coverage for a 1999 Plymouth
breeze. this is in new york....it's some local insurance company oh she has no credit..?
i can just imagine how much I'll be paying after i get my license
this summer at 18!
A: Answer from a General Insurance Agent
Your Aunt is considered a "high risk" driver due to no credit, and no driving history.
She needs to try some other smaller companies. Shop around. A non standard auto insurance carrier will offer her the best rate. there are many non-standard companies that do not even use credit scoring in their premium rate tables, The coverage will not be as extensive as a larger national company but at least it will be affordable, likely about 78 to 98 dollars a month for minimum liability from your aunts description barring any tickets or accident on her current driving record.
All the larger national companies will use her credit score in determining her premium and require at least 3 years, usually 5 years driving history. When they find out she has little or no driving history they will just tell her that she does not meet the requirements for their program due to being a high risk driver. thats just a waste of her time.
You aunt should also consider taking an approved Drivers training or drivers education course. this could save her up to 20 percent on her premium.
Some Insurers are also offering up to 5 percent discount for policy holders who pay their premium by EFT or automatic debit. Just something else to consider.
After having a non standard auto policy for a couple years with no lapses and a decent driving record for say 3 years, your aunt should then have no problem getting good insurance at affordable rates from a Standard company.
Good Luck and Happy Motoring
Q: Car insurance in new york state?
i know there are 3 types of car insurance; Liability,Compensation and another, and the combination of this three makes auto insurance very expensive, but i also heard you can chose the one that best suit your needs than to take all three so that your monthly auto insurance expenses could be slashed almost 75%.My question is,as a resident of NY state,am i allowed to just take the insurance i prefer,eg if i want just liability insurance,i just pick that one and ignore the others to lessen my monthly auto insurace. Is that allowed? From the online quote of GEICO which claims to be the cheapest in the NY state,am to pay $550,which is wayyyyyyyyyyy to expensive for a student like me and so heard about choosing one option of auto insurance. Can i just choose the form of insurance i want or is IT COMPULSORY TO TAKE FULL AUTO INSURANCE in NY or America as a whole?
A: pix, I recommend you find a nearby auto insurance agent to help. Since I live in New Mexico I can't recommend an agent in New York, but here is an online resource that can help you. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html
Good Luck!
Q: Where to get Auto Insurance for New Driver?
So I just got my drivers license at the age of 30 apparently a shameful disgraceful act that puts me in the scum of human beings as I have lived in New York for 23 years and everyone who asked me this question looks at me like I'm trash for not having a drivers license earlier but that's not my question.
Apparently since I am a new driver I cannot get auto insurance from companies like Geico or Allstate because I don't have 3 years of driving experience and 1 year of autoinsurance so I cannot join their elite companies insurance.
So what other insurance can I get ? I mean I am 30 years old I am not going to be careless driver or anything.
A: Typically, insurance rates are filed by the various insurance companies that are licensed to do business in your State, and they vary from State to State.
The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies.
An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can.
In my agency, we have companies that charge a little extra and some that do not.
Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you'll find that MOST of them are going to reequire prior and more time "behind the wheel!"
Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps
Q: Suspended Auto Registration New York State (NYS)?
Can you sell your car if you registration has been suspended by New York State? My insurance lapsed and I have to serve out my suspension until Aug. 2008. That being said, I have a restricted license so I can drive, I just can't drive my car. So can I sell the car? If so, can you send me a link or some kind of evidence showing that I can or can not? This would be a GREAT help!!! Thanks to all in advance...
A: Since cars are sold by title, not by registration, yes you can sell it, but the buyer would have to get it registered and tagged before he could drive it. It could, of course, be towed or trailered.
Q: Can I sue some one for negligence and pain and suffering in New York for a auto accident that was there fault?
I was in a rear end accident in New York (No Fault insurance) the other parties insurance took full blame and totaled the car, they offered me the value of the car (even though i currently have a lean on the car from where I purchased it and owe about twice that amount) can I sue her for the difference? I was stopped in a line of traffic for a stopped school bus when the person behind me failed to stop and hit me in the rear end going around 30 -40mph. I may not be seriously injured, bumps and bruises (whiplash) I have to go to physical therapy 3 times a week for four weeks, currently taking muscle relaxing medication and sleeping pills because of it and am out of work because of it now. If there is nothing broke and just bumps and bruises can I still sue in New York State?
A: New York has what is called threshold requirements for injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents. If all you have is bumps and bruises, you would not meet the requirements needed to sue.
Q: What site would show pix of intersections in New York City?
I work in the auto claims department for an insurance broker and need a website that would portray intersection photos so that I can properly investigate acccidents at various sites in New York.
A: You have arrived at the Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS) of the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT). ATIS serves NYC residents by helping them get quickly through their everyday commute.

Q: Cheap Auto Insurance?
I know for a 17-yr-old newly licensed female its expensive, but what auto insurance company would you recommend. I live in New York, drive '93 Ford Explorer thats in satisfactory condition.
A: I'm 18, male. my recommendation is that you register as a 2nd driver under a parent's name. If you're the big name on the tag, your bill will be big also. It's still a heavy blow as a second driver but not as much as if you were on your own.
Allstate offers the good grades (B I think) discount and a partial return of money IF you don't get any tickets/accidents. I think those are common for all companies, though. I suggest Allstate or statefarm, they're nationwide.
