Q: What auto insurance company do you use?
I live in Oklahoma and need to put 5 vehicles on my policy. Which one is best for me?
A: Do you actually own and use 5 cars on a regular basis? As to what is best for you, the answer is: it depends.
There are a lot of factors I don't know to even make a guess. Gender? Age? What vehicles? ZIP code? Credit status? Driving record? And many other things to consider that you don't want to post here.
Best bet, find an independent agent, give him your information, let him search his data base and find what is best for you, and go from there. Don't pick a one company agent, because they will just push their company.
Q: What happens if I get in an auto accident if I have my insurance policy from another state?
I did live in Oklahoma and now I live in Arkansas. I just noticed that I haven't changed my policy to reflect my Arkansas address. My insurance policy is cheaper in Oklahoma.
If I "forget" to change it, what will happen if I get in an accident?
A: If you "forget", your company could deny coverage in case of an accident. If' you've moved permanently or temporarily to Arkansas, you need to change your policy to reflect that. Most states give you 30 days to change your plates and registration, so if you've gone beyond that, you may be in trouble. Git 'er done, even if it does cost more.
Q: Auto Insurance Problem (Drive from the U.S. to Canada)?
Hi, I live in Oklahoma state and I bought liability insurance only. However, I am going to drive to Canada next month and probably going to stay there for a month. Is there anything that I need to do with my auto insurance?
Thanks!
A: No, I live in Canada and often drive to the United States. Given that the two countries are similar and have similar insurance laws as well as companies, eg: allstate, if u get into an accident in Canada, your insurance company will handle it just as they would in the U.S. For more info, call and ask your company.
Q: Where can I find a list online of my state's insurance laws?
State: Oklahoma
This can be any type of insurance. Specifically auto insurance claims.
A: Here is a list of hits under Oklahoma statutes. Why can't states make it easy to search their statutes? At least at Mass.gov, you can get to page that lets you search just the statutes, without all this nonsense about reports and proposed amendments.
