Q: Are there any auto insurance companies in the state of Virginia that offer glass coverage?
A: I thought all insurance companies covered glass. In fact, I think the windshield doesn't even have a deductible (but side and rear windows do).
Check it out by calling a random insurance company like http://www.statefarm.com or http://www.geico.com etc...
Q: auto insurance increase in Virginia?
Do you have Esurance and live in Virginia? Last year my rate went up 10 bucks and then this year is goes up to $9.89 addition increase. Each of the times I have called about the increase, their reason was that it is statewide due to the increase in repair cost for the state of Virginia. I asked if it was just Esurance or every company. The guy yesterday told me it was just Esurance. Has everyone had this happen to them?
A: car-insurance.66ghz.com - I switched to this car insurance from them, cause it gives much cheaper rates in my area.
Q: Are you allowed to drive your parents' car with their permission without auto insurance?
I just wanted to know if I can drive my parents' car legally without auto insurance. I live in Virginia, if that is helpful.
I have a license. Just no auto insurance... yet.
A: Depending on how old you are, if you have a drivers license and your parents' permission, in some states you can legally drive their vehicle and be covered by their insurance, because the insurance covers the vehicle.
I know it is true in my state up to age 25 but I don't know for sure about Virginia.
If you have a valid drivers license and you are ticketed, you will receive the ticket, not your parents. But your parents' insurance will cover damages to the vehicle and to other property not belonging to you.
Don't bother asking your agent because it is in their best interest if you are insured individually from your parents.
Q: I need help with auto insurance claims in virginia. Am I being taken advantage of?
I was rear-ended at midnight June 26th. I was going 25mph in an acura integra and was rear ended by a Dodge 1500 pick up going 50mph. The driver hit and run (leaving the plates from his sisters car). The officer charged the driver. His insurance company (progressive) looked at my car , totaled it, and took a recorded statement. The driver had a revoked license. The insurance rep. said for a week they were waiting to speak with the driver to see who was at fault, but no one can find him. I then got a lawyer, which nothing has happened since then for the same reason, no one can find the driver. The driver has a lawyer so he wont talk to the cops. The cop says he'll be let off because they cant prove he was driving. So will I get any insurance money? It is now July 30th. I heard there was a 6 week limit that the insurance has to do something legally. Thanks so much. PLEASE HELP!!!
I have UM, my insurance says they cant act because progressive is currently "investigating". They wotn act until they know progressive isn't going to act.
A: This happens all the time. The fact is the only person that can file a claim is the owner of the insurance policy. If he/she does not then you will be forced to go through your own insurer, which you should have done three weeks ago. They will pay you for your car (providing, of course, you have UM and collision coverage), then they will pursue the other party for recovery.
Q: Insurance in Virginia?
If i want to work as an insurance agent , is there any license requirements in Virginia ( Auto and home insurance)?
A: Yes, you need to have one!! You can find out how to get one at the state insurance department website.
Q: Auto insurance question - this is crazy!!!!?
My husband and I have insurance through a nationally known firm. When my son got his drivers license (he is 17) our insurance doubled (I knew that would happen). He has since then had his license taken away for 6 months. When I called the insurance company to have him dropped from the policy they said there would be no reduction in our premium. I asked why and they said as long as he lives in our home it will stay that way. I said that is crazy, he HAS NO LICENSE!. They said as long as anyone lives in our home and has no auto insurance, they are an automatic risk for us, they may take one of our cars in an emergency situation. I have never heard of this. They said "Oh yes - if I came to live in your house and had no auto insurance, I would be a risk on your policy. I was like - well how would you know if someone lived in our house. Any advice? This is a Virginia policy. Sounds like we are being ripped off. $600 a month is too much for anyone!!
A: First, you posted in the pets section. Oops. Anyway, I think you are being ripped off. I would change insurance companies asap. That's the best way to send a message "I'm mad as h and I'm not gonna take it any more!" That said, I can only suggest a great company you can only use if you are military, ex-military or related to someone in the military. This company was founded by military people and really goes the extra mile to help members. That's right I said members. When you get the insurance you become a member and actually get a share of the money the company makes. It's called USAA. Find it at https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_logon/Logon
Check it out and see what they offer.
Q: Legal question for state of Virginia Auto accident not your fault?
You are driving along when another driver loses control of the car he is in and hits you head on! upon investigation you learn the other driver is 16 only has a learners permit and did not have a license driver with him, he was alone in the car. The car belonged to his grandfather. will the grandfathers insurance cover the accident. I had or have full coverage ins. on my vehicle but don't think it is right for my ins. to cover the accident when he was at fault, especially when I have a $500. deductible Again will the grandfathers ins. cover the accident or will they take the stand that he should not be driving the car so your not covered???? My wife was driving and was also alone she took a ambulance ride to the hospital and has only a pulled muscle ( thank God ) The other driver 16 was charged with reckless driving. I know I rambled a little but the facts are there I need answers good ones!
A: The Grandfathers insurance may not pay but it doesn't really matter a whole bunch. You would be smart and have little choice but to use your own insurance even though you have to put up the $500. deductible. Your insurance company will pay for all of your damages and then they will go after the other party. When/if they collect, they will return your deductible to you
Q: what should i do from here? (auto accident/ insurance issues)?
I had a car that I was giving to a close friend of mine. It wasnt insured at the time and I let her know that in order for me to give her the car I needed a new copy of my title and proper insurance so that I could give it to her legally. She saw my clear intent to give her the vehicle but my deadline with the DMV was approaching. She added the car to her policy so that the car wouldnt get a towed away by Virginia. We lived at the same address however she refused to add me to the policy at the time because I had no desire to keep the car. Less than two months after insuring the vehicle, I had experienced a family emergency and needed a ride to my hometown- almost an hr away. On the way an accident happened, my car was totaled and the car that caused the crash sped away. Now one of the cars involved is trying to sue me. Even though the car was insured I wasnt. And now the ins comp is sayin they r droppin the car retroactive two months prior (so they dont pay) what 2 do now?
A: Okay, bottom line is whoever owns the car (has the title) is responsible for the insurance. You can't insure something you don't own or have a vested interest in. It's called "insurable interest". Otherwise, I'd get a policy on my neighbor's punk kids and collect a check every time they wreck.
Your friend purchased insurance on the car, without owning it. So, when the insurance company discovered this, they canceled the policy and will give her back whatever she has paid for the insurance.
If you weren't at fault for the wreck, I'm not sure why the other driver is trying to sue you. Hopefully, you can prove you weren't at fault in court. Time to lawyer up and get insurance on the car until you sell it.
Q: my car insurance raised the price of my premiun, I didn't get any tickets, no accidents.....?
and I even took the defensive driver course online , they told me that it was because they rise the premiuns in the whole state of virginia? is this true or just a lie?
Is it someone that has/had the same problem than me?
what auto insurance company do you recomend?
A: They have the right to raise your premium, but you have the right to shop around and get it cheaper. I'd get a couple quotes from online and from some of your local insurance agents. Make sure you compare all the coverages included in your existing plan with the new one (sometimes the cheaper rate is because they lowered certain coverages).
Q: Auto accident, injury claims question hit/run UMC?
I was involved in an auto accident on 5/18/2008. I was driving northbound on interstate 95 headed to new york from virginia. When the accident occured I was In new jersey. Someone hit me in the passenger rear side which caused me to spin out of control and do about 3-4 360 degree turns down the freeway. I finally came to a STOP when the passenger side of my car hit the rear of an S.U.V. At that point the S.U.V stopped for a mere 1-2 seconds and sped off. I was left on the side of the highway by myself. Me and my passenger both sustained what we thought were minor injuries. An officer came wrote a police report (since there were no other vehicles that stopped he wrote it as hit/run). A tow truck then took my car off the turnpike and to the nearest local repair shop. I then had to take a TRAIN to new york from jersey to where my family lives. The next day I went to seek medical treatment for my neck/back/and right shoulder, so did my passenger. I got treatment 3 times a week from a chiropractor and got x-rays. The following week i returned home (virginia) where I found a chiropractor and had my medical files transferred. I have been seeing him since... I have seen a medical doctor, gone to get an MRI, and now have to go see an orthopedist. (The mri found i had a fracture in my shoulder) I went back to finally pick up my car from the shop the framework/ body work/ and paint had been done but they had not done anything mechanically to my car yet they insisted it was READY FOR PICKUP. i was furious so i end up driving my car back home to virginia because i could not waste any more time/money. My car still has check engine light on, abs light on, speedometer doesnt work, suspension was SHOT. the passenger side strut was blown i could tell cause that side of the car had no bouyancy (sp?) to it. I then called my lawyer and he called the insurance company and got them to replace that strut. EITHERWAY the car is still not mechanically sound and back to the state it was before the accident.
MY QUESTIONS ARE....
WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE FROM HERE?
ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS SO FAR AND MY CAR IS STILL NOT RUNNING CORRECT.
I have contacted the insurance company they told me an adjuster would come out to look at my car again and nobody has called me or showed up.
Am i sueing my insurance company?
All my lawyer has done is send out letters of representation to the doctors i have seen that my chiropractor has referred me to...
p.s.
Im 20 years old
I have full coverage and own a 2000 bmw 528i
I know its lengthy but thanks in advance im really confused as to what position im in and what options i have... i have kind of just been going with the flow seeking my medical treatment..
A: You might just have to unplug the battery so the check engine light comes off. Sometimes you need to do that to turn it off.
You should have left your car at the body shop until it was fixed completely. Insurance companies have to pay for storage everyday when a car is sitting in someone's lot. But being that you drove your car from NJ to VA, chances are, no matter how hard you try your car isn't going to get fixed at this point. You could try to get an estimate done and submit by fax & regular mail to your insurance company and see if they'll pay it or reimburse you for it.
Most of the time, attorneys do the property damage part as a courtesy to the client; our office does.
You are suing your insurance company under the uninsured motorist part of your policy. Everybody has it. If you look on your declaration page from your insurance (the packet they send you every time your insurance renew), there's a page that says your policy limits. So if you want to know the most you could possibly get when you sue them, look under the uninsured/underinsured motorist section. It should say an amount like [$100,000/$300,000.00 (per person/per accident)], those are your benefits. But that has nothing to do with the part that is paying your medical bills.
Your attorney sounds like my old boss, lol.
Q: What do I need to do after being in an accident with a rental car?
I was in an accident with a rental car in Virginia. The rental car person asked me if I want additional insurance and declined. Because my credit card company provides auto insurance provided I decline the insurance from the rental car company. I was not aware of the fact that without liability insurance my license would be suspended. I did not know that I did not have liability insurance until after I called the credit card company. As far as I understood from my credit card forms, the credit card company will cover the charges to the rental car, but there is also damage in te other car. And according to the police report I caused the accident by making an erroneous lane change
I would like to know what do I need to do. How should I proceed from here?
Thank you.
A: The rental company has liability coverage on their vehicles. In general, liability coverage follows the vehicle not the driver. You CC insurance will pay for the damage to the rental vehicle. The rental company's liability coverage will pay for the damage to the other vehicle up to the policy limits. In most cases, the rental company only carries compulsory limits. If you have auto insurance of your own, contact your insurance company. Your own coverage MAY provide excess primary liability coverage.
Q: Should I Voluntarily Repossess My Jeep?
My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Virginia
Last April, my wife and I needed a car because our only other vehicle broke down completely. We went to a local dealership and (even though my credit was shot and she had no credit), we were "blessed" with a "deal" on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was naive, and didn't really pay attention to the fine print on the financial agreement to see that only $210 of the proposed $465 monthly payments would be applied to the balance of the auto loan; the rest would be going to interest. Therefore, here I am -- a year and a half later. I am just now getting back into the workforce after a month of being unemployed. We're expecting our first child in less than 2 months. And I am paying $465 monthly for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 110K miles on it -- not including the liability and collision insurance payments monthly. The payments hit us so hard last summer when my wife lost her job that we lapsed our insurance policy and the passenger side of the vehicle is STILL damaged (auto collision companies have quoted as at least $1,200 to fix it).
What are my options? Would it be easier (and more feasible) for us to voluntarily repossess the car and save up our money to buy a cheaper car with straight cash? What are the repercussions for doing that? I know that there are legal firms that I have been researching that say that they can have the repossession deleted from my credit report. Is that true? Are there any strings attached? I just want to do what's financially right for me and my family, and I definitely want to make sure that I make a wise decision -- Lord knows I've made enough dumb ones in the past! Please help me by advising me on the best way to go. Thanks!
A: Do not voluntarily repossess your Jeep! It will destroy your already bad credit for seven years and any group that tries to tell you they can help is lying. That repo goes on your record and does NOT get off. You will pay for that mistake many, many times over.
You can sell the car now but according to Edmunds it is only worth $5100 in a private sale. That price includes the extremely high mileage and considerable body damage. If you don't get it fixed, you'll be losing $2300 in value. If you spend $1200 to fix it, you'll get almost twice that back. Do you understand? Fix the car! Then sell it, ASAP. It won't go for much since those SUVs are the least desirable these days. Just prepare for a huge hit.
Don't spend your money on a "credit repair" firm because they will just take your money and leave you further in the hole. Most will just lump all of your bills into one huge one and then charge you a fee for their "service."
Q: Will someone hear me out? It's kinda long, and I don't need sarcasm....?
Okay, it's kinda depressing i had to go on Y/A to talk about this, but i figured it'd be the best way to vent out how i feel, and maybe get an insight from someone who happens to know a thing or two on psychology, or even gone through a similar experience.
I was separated from the military back in october of '08 for having panic attacks. That in itself was a life changing event. So, i slowly got used to civilian life once again. Then, come Christmas/New Years, I go to my hometown of NY and see some family and friends. Well while my Fiance and I were up there, we found out on New Years Eve that our apartment (that we just got in October) burnt down. Another life changing event. So, by the time we get back down to Virginia, he has to go out to sea. I had to be stuck behind going through our place and seeing if anything was salvageable, looking at our whole life (materialistically anyway) destroyed. And did it alone. Then I got my insurance check, and got my new apartment all set up and furnished by the time he came home. He just got back a few days ago. I've seriously been on auto Pilot dealing with stress. It was like "stress stress...sleep" and it was day in and day out. Now he's home. And I feeel like i'm losing my mind. There's been so much stuff happening to me that I feel like I mentallly can't withstand it anymore. I mean I feel better when he's around, but, he's leaving to go on deployment on the 21st of February.
Basically I just needed to vent. I can't exactly put my finger on how I feel in this situation, but if there's someone out there who helps people out for a living, or is a genuinley GOOD person, please give me some advice on how to pull through? Like things are okay now, but my mind is still thinking that stuff is still not good. Idk....
I was perscribed medication, it didn't work. So there was a different one perscribed...still no luck. I really don't think this is something that a medicine should be taking care of....
A: Am so sorry you have been going thru it back to back... im not a pro at giving advise but I will try :)
Everything that is happening, you must believe you will get thru it... Intention and faith will carry you a long way. Also in saying that action comes hand in hand with it...If you are unhappy about something or someone, you have to take a stand and be true to yourself and what you really want in life and do something about it NOW. If its the city you live in, the job u have, the relationship you are in, this can all contribute to how you feel and this weight u are carrying.
You have to eliminate the things that are not flowing in your world, even if it is hard. Any of these elements and many more can wear you down, physically and mentally without you knowing.
Nothing in life is perfect, but you have to strive to be happy and healthy!
To have panic attacks from back then, it must of been from something that has been going on for a while before/during the military. Only you know... and with everything that's happen from Oct to the present, its only built up more stress and anxiety and this stuff can drive you crazy. You have to find a way to get rid of anything u can control that makes u unhappy period! Take sum of the load off ur shoulders, even if it means staying with family till you figure out how you feel... you may have to take a step down in order to move forward heathy. Family always have ur best interest or even a trusting friend...
In any situation in any case you always have to know that you will fight thru it and figure out a way... since he is gone alot of the time, do you handle bills and all responsibility?
You have to do things that relieve some of the stress. i.e meditate, work out, sit in a steam room anything that takes you somewhere u can shut down for a while and give u room to relax ur mind.
Prayer and determination is powerful. This is a crazy world we live in and there is something greater controlling all this that can help if you seek the guidance....In life everything must have a median/balance for it to work properly. Only you know and if you dont search deep down on why you feel this way and where it stems from. Step by step, you can work on each hurdle one by one, nothing will happen in a day and it may take time... but you will eventually get there, only if you believe you will...
Make sure you areeatingg healthy and regular . Drink lots of water, take care of yourself, force yourself to sleep at nite, get out of the house for walks with friends and alone. Think about your life and how you want to live it. Imagine it, see it and once you see it, work on bringing it to life... little by little...trust me, I havent been thru what you have, i have been thru alot in a different way and you can really do it if you want to.
From personal experience i know doctors give meds out to shut ppl up most of the time... try natural forms of meds/ relaxation if u feel you want that extra push....ie melatonin pills. but remember the mind is a powerful thing and can achieve almost anything you put it to... u would be amazed on how simply eatting the right foods that agree with ur body can help you mentally. Its probably a bunch of things all at once. take a closer look at ur diet, you social life - its very healthy to have a balanced one..., your job, relationship, home, spirituality... this is what make up you.. and you know deep down what is right/good for you and what isnt..trust ur gut!
everything around you, everything you consume, everything you entertain will effect you somehow someway... be selective...
Good luck and if I think of anything else, i was just typing what I felt, I will send another msg!
Best wishes and stay strong!!!!

Auto insurance question - this is crazy!!!!?

A: I also want to point out the reason why the insurance companies are so adamant about this. If you are allowed to remove your son from the policy and he drives the car without a license and caused an accident the insurance company is still required to pay the claim. From the company's standpoint your son is still a risk in the household with access to your vehicles.
Ditto on the driver exclusion. It's not worth it.
